TACLOBAN CITY – Jobs seekers in the region will have another good opportunity to look for a job that suit their qualifications. 

This coming Sunday, May 1, 2011, the Department of Labor and Employment will conduct a Jobs Fair in partnership with ABS-CBN Tacloban through its Trabaho Patrol Program, and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.

DOLE Regional Director Forter G. Puguon said that over 3,000 job vacancies for both local and overseas employment will be available at the one day jobs fair.  This is in pursuance of the goal of the government under the Aquino III administration of facilitating workers’ and employers’ search for jobs and skills respectively, and thus enabling them to contribute to our economic development and growth.

            Among the local employers that confirmed to participate in the Jobs Fair are the following, Health Station, Andoks, Bayantel, Sheridan Marketing Inc, Convergys, Taytay sa Kauswagan, Gaisano Central, AXA Phils, Trisean Ventures, Gaisano Capital, Coca Cola Bottlers Phils, Inc. APAC Customer Services, Inc. Fast Distribution Corp., Ford Tacloban, Sunpride Foods Inc. and IPCAR Technology.

The local jobs to be offered include training and recruitment officer, administrative assistant, health consultations, service crews, cashiers, accounting staff, accountant, bookkeeper, office staff, merchandiser, call center agents, drivers, electricians, sales agents, account developers,

For overseas employment, the jobs will include domestic helpers, sales and hotel staff, skilled workers and engineers, from eleven (11) overseas recruitment agencies, namely: 10^th Story, Ascend, Mondial, Naptron, New Era Placement Agency, Ozem, Pacific Mediteranean, Unijobs, Phil Employ, Zareko Promotions Inc., and Verde Manpower. 

            Puguon is calling on all jobs applicants to take full advantage of this rare opportunity of a whole day jobs fair by coming to the Tacloban City Convention Center on May 1 and explore every job vacancy that may fit their educational background, training and experience.
