TACLOBAN CITY, LEYTE--- The Department of Labor and Employment through its Southern Leyte Field Office in partnership with the Local Government Unit of San Francisco, Southern Leyte have recently turned over tools, materials, and equipment worth P1,137,468.50 to 178 informal sector workers in the municipality of San Francisco, Southern Leyte.

Present during the simple turn over ceremony were San Francisco Mayor Samson Gamutan, Jr., DOLE Southern Leyte Field Office chief Fe Norma D. Valuis, municipal officials, and the beneficiaries and their families.

With the release of the tools, materials and equipment, the identified beneficiaries are not set to start their food vending, food processing, farming and fishing livelihood undertaking.

Ms. Valuis in her message in behalf of DOLE Regional Director Elias A. Cayanong expressed hopes that the assistance would pave the way for a better and sustainable livelihood for the beneficiaries.

Mayor Gamutan for his part, thanked the DOLE for the livelihood grant saying it would greatly help their small but thriving municipality.  He assured the DOLE that it will seriously monitor all the projects through the PESO Manager so as to ensure their success and sustainability.
