Dir. Sarcauga formally assumes as new DOLE chief in Region 8

TACLOBAN CITY – Officials and employees of the Department of Labor and Employment in Region 8 officially welcomed back Director Exequiel Sarcauga as their new Regional Director.

Director Sarcauga formally took the helm of the DOLE regional leadership during a simple symbolic turn over ceremony held at the DOLE Training Center on March 31, 2017.

“I was with you during the Yolanda days, and together we have proven that we can accomplish so much amidst ruins and devastations, all for the benefit of the people we ought to serve,” Sarcauga said.

During Friday’s simple turnover ceremony, Sarcauga lauded the effort of his predecessor Director Elias A. Cayanong for the many good practices he had initiated.  He vowed to sustain the agency’s focus on all programs, and even improve them to ensure prompt service-delivery to the public.

“I need the same support that you gave to Director Cayanong for me to continue  what has  been  done  before  and with the  support, commitment, dedication and desire to serve of all the staff,  we will be  able to work  out  more development for this region,”  Sarcauga said.

Sarcauga who is a Career Executive Service Officer IV, is not a new comer to the DOLE Regional Office No. 8 having been assigned as its Regional Director from February until he was assigned to DOLE Central Visayas as Regional Director in August 2015.

Aside from being a Regional Director, he held many position to include assistant regional director of DOLE Region 7, DOLE Central Visayas tri-city field office head, professor of Cebu Doctor’s University, secretary of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board Central Visayas, faculty member of Cebu International School, and trainer of various DOLE-related trainings.
