At least 4,000 jobs up for grab at the Labor Day job fair

TACLOBAN CITYAt least 4,000 overseas and local job vacancies from twenty-four (24) local employers and eight (8) overseas recruitment agencies will be offered during the Labor Day Job Fair on May 1 at the Leyte Academic Center, Candahug, Palo, Leyte.

This was announced by DOLE Regional Director Exequiel R. Sarcauga after receiving a report from Ms. Bernardita M. Navarra, Chair of the Committee on Job Fair and Mr. Marlon , POEA Regional Coordinator.

The job fair is one of the highlights of the 115th Labor Day Celebration to give the unemployed, displaced workers, and the newly graduates the opportunity to find a job, and this will be conducted in partnership with ABS-CBN Tacloban through its Trabaho Patrol Program.

The theme of the DOLE Labor Day 2017 Job and Business Fair is “Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho Tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago.

Among the local employers that confirmed to participate in the jobs fair are Emerald Garment Manufacturing Corp., GOABROAD Philippines Inc., DJ Concrete Solutions Inc., MSS Cycle Trading-Motorstar, Palawan Pawnshop, Ford Tacloban, Jollibee,Chowking, Greenwich, Leyte Dokiks Corp. (Andoks), Topcars Autoworld Corp. (Nissan Tacloban), Gaisano Capital Tacloban, Mactan Rock Industries Inc., RD Pawnshop Inc., Robinsons Supermarket, Sheridan Marketing Inc., Acabar Marketing International Inc., Divine Word Hospital, Albertson Marketing, Genuine Touch Manpower & General Services, LEHCI Food Venture/Hukad, Oppo Mobile Technology, Inc., Reley Seven Manpower, Inc., Savemore, and DSWD.

Sarcauga said that local job vacancies available in the job fair include cashiers, IT staff, service crew, sales representatives, marketing officers, managers, supervisors, and electronic technicians.

For the applicants who are seeking overseas employment, 8 overseas recruitment agencies are also set to join the jobs fair with at least 3,500 job orders for skilled workers, health care workers, construction workers, office staff, hotel staff, electronic technicians, teachers, drivers, and engineers.

POEA Officer-in-Charge Marlon explained that it has only considered those job orders that are for immediate deployment overseas to ensure that applicants could leave overseas the soonest possible time.

Sarcauga is calling on all job applicants to take full advantage of this rare opportunity of a whole day job fair by coming to the Leyte Academic Center on May 1 and explore every job vacancy that may fit their educational background, training and experience.

Interested applicants should visit the DOLE Regional Office to pre-register their skills and bring with them documentary requirements such as resume, diploma, transcript of records, employment certification and other relevant documents.
