Laptops, printers handed to 13 teachers under NRCO-SPIMS program


TACLOBAN CITY – The National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) in cooperation with the Department of Education awarded teaching kits to thirteen (13) beneficiaries of “Sa Pinas, Ikaw ang Ma’am at Sir” (SPIMS) program.

Thirteen of the sixteen awarded attended the awarding ceremony held last July 9, 2018 at the Sal’s Restaurant, Salazar Street, Tacloban City, headed by Ms. Mary Jane B. Abenoja and Ms. Charlene L. Esguerra, both NRCO in-charge.

Ms. Abenoja delivered a message in behalf of DOLE 8 Regional Director Cyril L. Ticao. “We hope that these laptops and printers will bring great help to all of you performing your jobs as teachers. In this modern age, we believe that these will aid you to become updated with the latest technologies”, said Abenoja.

Excitement and gladness filled the hearts of the beneficiaries who came from different municipalities in Leyte, Samar and Biliran. Mr.German S. Mabini, a teacher from San Sebastian, Northern Samar expressed his gratitude to be one of the lucky recipients.

“I am happy that we are given a chance like this to become more efficient in our jobs. Rest assured that I will take care of these equipment and I hope more teachers like us will be assisted by NRCO”, said Mabini.

Each beneficiary received one (1) unit of Acer Aspire ES14 Laptop and one (1) unit of HP Deskjet Advantage 2676 All-In-One Printer amounting to twenty thousand pesos.

A brief orientation on the programs and services of NRCO was conducted after the awarding ceremony.
