CY 2018 campaign against contractualization results to 9,237 workers regularized in EV

Given a target of 9,000 workers to be regularized under the department’s campaign against “ENDO”, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 8 has successfully surpassed its target with an accomplishment rate of 102.6%.

Said number of workers were regularized by three hundred forty-five companies (345) operating in Region 8.

Aside from the different fora conducted with various sectors of employers, DOLE RO8 likewise intensified the conduct of inspection among establishments in order to monitor the compliance of employers to regularization of workers.  As a result, 160 establishments have voluntarily absorbed 4,500 workers while 4,737 employees were regularized by 185 companies which were monitored during labor inspections.

In a special meeting last January 3, 2019, DOLE RO8 Director Yahya A. Centi  lauded the efforts of all the labor inspectors as well as the field office heads in monitoring the regularization of workers in the region that paved the way for the accomplishments of the target. He congratulated the team for a job well done and encouraged them to keep on improving their performances for the good of the region.

“Let me congratulate all of you for doing your best not only in accomplishing our targets but in helping our workers here in Eastern Visayas. I hope for this year 2019, we will be even more vigilant in the conduct if inspections”, said Director Centi.

On a national scale, the Department of Labor and Employment targeted 300,000 workers to be regularized for year 2018 as the department’s response to the current administration’s challenge of ending contractualization.
