SENA benefits over 200 workers in January 2019

Tacloban City – Some two hundred twenty (220) workers coming from different parts of Eastern Visayas benefitted from the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) Program of the Department of Labor and Employment for the month of January 2019.

In a report submitted to the National Conciliation Mediation Board (NCMB), a total of P2,130,919.73 monetary benefits were claimed by workers with complaints mostly on wages, 13th month pay, overtime pay and holiday pay.

The West Leyte Field Office (WLFO) facilitated the highest monetary claims with more than nine hundred thousand pesos benefitting 103 workers followed by the North Leyte Field Office (NLFO) which awarded over eight hundred thousand pesos to 99 workers.

Ranking third is the Biliran Field Office (BFO) which tallied more than two hundred thousand pesos monetary claims. Following are the Southern Leyte Field Office (SLFO) and Samar Field Office (SFO) which registered 77,028 and 70,911.87 monetary awards.

In term of disposition and settlement of SEnA Requests for Assistance (RFAs), the West Leyte Field Office also got the highest with 100% and 97%, respectively.

Samar Field Office (SFO) likewise disposed all the RFAs filed at their office while North Leyte Field Office disposed 85% of the fifty-six (56) requests handled.

Director Yahya A. Centi lauded the efforts of all the Single Entry Approach Desk Officers (SEADOs) in facilitating for the settlement and disposition of requests lodged at their respective offices.

“SENA has been very helpful to our aggrieved workers and I’d like to thank our SEADOs for doing their best in ensuring that our workers are getting what are due them,” said Director Centi.

SENA is an administrative approach to provide a speedy, impartial, inexpensive and accessible settlement procedure for all issues/complaints arising from employer-employee relations to prevent them from ripening into full blown disputes.
