DOLE RO VIII receives CSC PRIME-HRM Bronze Award

Tacloban City – The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office VIII has been awarded by the Civil Service Commission Regional Office VIII with the Bronze Award under its Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) during the simple Kalayaan 2020 program held on 12 June 2020 at DOLE RO VIII Building, this city.

Based on the validation conducted by the Human Resource Policies and Standards Office (HRPSO) of the CSC, the agency recommended the conferment of PRIME-HRM Brinze Award to DOLE RO VIII for meeting PRIME-HRM Level 2-Maturity Indicators of all the four (4) core HRM systems namely, Recruitment, Selection and Placement; Performance Management; Learning and Development; and Rewards and Recognition. Also, DOLE RO VIII have been found to be compliant with the Civil Service Law and rules on the issuance of appointments and other HR programs and has maintained its HR records management.

Regional Director Yahya A. Centi expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Commission through DIrector Victoria F. Esber who personally conferred the award together with Director Pharida Aurelia of the CSC Leyte Field Office. He likewise thanked Ms. Florence Panao, HRMO of DOLE RO VIII for all her dedication and sacrifice.

“It is historical and monumental that as we celebrate the Philippine Independence Day Anniversary, we were conferred with this PRIME-HRM Bronze Award. My sincere thanks to the CSC headed by Director Esber and her team for guiding and assisting us. Kudos to DOLE VIII especially to our HR, Ms. Florence Panao, for her dedication and sacrifice”, said Centi.

Being conferred with the PRIME-HRM Bronze Award, DOLE RO VIII is granted privileges such as authority to approve appointments, subject to post audit; 20% discount for the HRMO or Agency representative on trainings/conferences conducted by Civil Servicve Institute; and endorsement or recommendation for scholarship grant offered by other institutions, among others.

PRIME-HRM aims to succesfully transform the agencies’ HRM systems, competencies and practices to elevate public sector HR to a level of excellence for good governance and for efficient and effective public service delivery. END/Norma Rae S. Costimiano
