P625-K TUPAD funds to benefit 250 Samarnons

Tacloban City – The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office VIII through its Samar Field Office awards a total of Php 650,000.00 TUPAD assistance to four (4) local government units of Samar courtesy of the congressional funds of the Tingog Sinirangan Partylist on 07 October 2020.

The four (4) LGUs which were the latest recipients of TUPAD fund assistance in the Eastern Visayas region are the following: Gandara, Sta. Margarita, Matuginao and Pagsanjan. The turnover of the checks and antibacterial hand soaps held on 07 October 2020 was led by DOLE-SFO Chief Fe Norma D. Valuis together with Mr. Teddy De Veyra, representative from the Tingog Partylist.  

Breakdown of funds released to the said LGUs are as follows: Php 325,000.00 for 100 identified beneficiaries of Gandara; Php 162,500.00 for 50 beneficiaries of Sta. Margarita; Php 162,500.00 for 50 beneficiaries of Pagsanghan; and 330 pcs of Antibacterial Hand Soap for 50 identified beneficiaries of Matuguinao, all in Western Samar.

Chief LEO Valuis congratulated the LGUs and thanked them for their usual commitment to DOLE’s programs and services. 

“My congratulations and thanks to our recipient LGUs for their commitment with DOLE in many pro-development efforts and employment-generating programs and projects that brought significant difference to the lives of their disadvantaged and displaced constituents”, said Valuis.

She likewise acknowledged the support from the Tingog Sinirangan Partylist in bringing fresh hopes to the lives of the people of Region 8 this time of pandemic. 

“Allow me also to express our gratitude to Tingog Sinirangan Partylist for being our partner in this meaningful endeavour in bringing hope to our informal workers affected by the ongoing health crisis,” Valuis ended.

LGUs likewise expressed their profound thanks and gratitude to DOLE Regional Director Yahya A. Centi and the SFO team, for all the support and assistance extended to their respective LGUs as DOLE has been their constant partner and supporter in bringing advancement and life-changing opportunities to their people.
