141 informal workers of Northern Samar to get aid via TUPAD

Tacloban City – Some one hundred forty-one informal sector workers of Palapag, Northern Samar will benefit from the Php 458,250.00 funds awarded by the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 8 to the said LGU last 16 November 2020 under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

DOLE Northern Samar Field Office (NSFO) Chief, Ms. Patria A. Bigcas, personally handed over the check to Palapag Mayor, Hon. Marlo Agno and PESO Manager Robilla Agno. An Waray Partylist, DOLE’s partner for the said TUPAD undertaking, was also represented during the simple awarding ceremony.

The identified workers who are all affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic will be deployed for the disinfection and sanitation of the different barangays of Palapag. At the end of their ten-day employment, each beneficiary will be receiving Php 3,250.00 as wages for the services rendered.

Mayor Robilla expressed his gratitude to DOLE and An Waray for the assistance which for him is a big blessing for their needy constituents.

“My sincere thanks to our partners, DOLE and An Waray for helping us through the TUPAD. Surely this will bring relief and joy to our constituents who are in dire need due to this pandemic”, said the good mayor.
