P2.6M TUPAD grants to assist 625 workers in Biliran province

Tacloban City – A total of P2,609,750.00 grants under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment was turned over to the Provincial Government of Biliran on 06 April 2021.

Ms. Gretchen Stephanie Espina, Executive Assistant of Governor Rogelio “Dok Roger” J. Espina, received the checks from Engr. Emmanuel Y. de la Cruz, DOLE-BIliran Field Office Chief.

The said TUPAD projects have been made possible through the initiative of Congressman Espina and will benefit some 625 informal sector workers of the province.

The beneficiaries, after completing their ten-day employment will receive wages of P3,250.00 each. 

Engr. De la Cruz expressed continued commitment to deliver the programs and services of DOLE for the ultimate benefit of its clients. He likewise thanked Congressman Espina and Governor Espina for initiating the TUPAD Project for the province.
