Displaced workers in Basey, Samar avail TUPAD

Tacloban City – Some one hundred (100) workers of Brgy. Serum, Basey, Samar were assisted by the Department of Labor and Employment - Samar Field Office through the Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers or the TUPAD Program. 

In a payout conducted on 04 June 2021 at Brgy. Serum Covered Court, each beneficiary received P4,875.00 as payment for the services rendered during the 15-day implementation of the program. 

Aside from the wages, all beneficiaries were likewise provided with TUPAD identification cards (IDs), Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) such as long-sleeves TUPAD shirt, buri hats, face masks and antibacterial soaps plus an enrollment to micro-insurance particularly the Group Personal Accident Insurance (GPAI) of the GSIS during the pre-implementation phase.

The total TUPAD assistance extended amounted to P487,500.00 as the beneficiaries gratefully received P4,875.00 each as payment for their fifteen (15) days services rendered. 

LEO II Karen Joan Libres in behalf of Provincial Head Fe Norma D. Valuis led the conduct of payout on 04 June 2021 at Brgy. Serum Covered Court, Basey, Samar. She was assisted by FNLIs Raul Angelo Tabao and Ms. Kirstine Ranz Orara from DOLE-SFO and Ms. Lanie Varona and Ms. Daisy Ann Condes, TUPAD Coordinators assigned at DOLE-Regional Office No. 8.

Also in attendance during the activity were Brgy. Kagawad Ralph D. Echanes representing Punong Brgy. Ruel B. Gacutno.

It was ensured that physical distancing and other health protocols were strictly implemented during the payout.
