DOLE to hold virtual job fair on Labor Day

Tacloban City – With the theme, “Mayo Uno sa bagong panahon – Manggagawa at Mamamayan, Babangon, Susulong!”, the Department of Labor and Employment, in celebration of this year’s Labor Day, will conduct a nationwide virtual job fair on May 1-3, 2021.

Dubbed as 2021 Labor Day Expanded Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fair, DOLE for this year’s celebration, partners with Jobstreet, aside from DTI and TESDA. 

As of 23 April, there are already 1,269 local and overseas job vacancies up for grabs via the Jobstreet site on May 1. Said vacancies are coming from some twenty (20) participating employers in the region. 

Among the listed local job vacancies are as follows: electricians, drivers, salesmen, merchandisers, management trainees, instructors, spa therapists, cashiers, riders and marketing asistants.

Meanwhile, some of the available overseas jobs include nurses, beauticians, heavy equipment operators, cooks, factory workers, dressmakers and machine operators.

DOLE-RO8 Regional Director Henry John S. Jalbuena urged interested jobseekers to join and maximize the benefits of the virtual job fair.

“I highly encourage our jobseekers to join the online job fair and get the chance to be employed. We will be doing it online due to the pandemic, but I hope you will all maximize the benefits of the event”, said Jalbuena.

Director Jalbuena likewise informed that pre-registration of jobseekers has already started last April 22.

“Our pre-registration has already started and we are calling out all interested applicants to pre-register now to get ahead of the process”, Jalbuena added.

All applicants are advised to visit to pre-register. 

DOLE-RO8 will be having a simple virtual program via Zoom on May 1 to commemorate the 119th Labor Day celebration. End/Norma Rae S. Costimiano
