DOLE-8 gives new pedicabs days before Christmas

Tacloban City – Just three days before Christmas, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 8 through its North Leyte Field Office distributed new pedicab units amounting to P391,000 to some 17 informal sector workers of Tacloban City.

One of the beneficiaries, Dennis Santiago, 59 years old, expressed his thanks to DOLE for the assistance received.

“Dako an akon pasalamat ha DOLE nga natagan kami han amon pinangangaro yana nga pasko. Ini nga mga pedicab in makakadugang han amon income ngan makakabulig para makapalit kmi hit amon mga panginahanglan”, said Santiago.

(“I am really thankful to DOLE for granting our Christmas wish. These pedicabs will surely boost our incomes and enable us to provide for our families’ needs”, said Santiago.)

In his message during the simple turnover program at the DOLE-8 grounds, Director Henry John S. Jalbuena happily congratulated the beneficiaries for their new pedicabs.

“We at DOLE are happy that we are able to grant these livelihood projects at such a time as this”, said Jalbuena.

He likewise reminded the beneficiaries to take good care of the pedicabs which are intended to augment their income.

“I hope you will all use it with care so that you can generate more income and provide for the needs of your families”, Jalbuena added.

Said livelihood assistance was charged under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) funds of the office. End/NRSC
