Over 1K EV workers benefit from SENA in CY 2021

Tacloban City – The Single Entry Approach (SEnA) program of the Department Labor and Employment has paved the way for some 1,174 workers in Eastern Visayas to successfully receive their monetary claims amounting to a total of P15,643,371.90 in year 2021.

In a report submitted to the National Conciliation Mediation Board (NCMB), 100% of the 812 total requests for assistance (RFAs) filed under SEnA were duly disposed.

Of the 812 RFAs, 665 were fully settled, giving the region a settlement rate of 82% which is way higher than the prescribed target of 70%. The remaining 147 RFAs were either withdrawn by the requesting parties, referred to NLRC or referred to other government offices.

RFAs received in 2021 were mostly on underpayment of wages, non-payment of 13th month pay, holiday pay, etc.

West Leyte Field Office received the most number of RFAs, a total of 272, followed by North Leyte with 268.

DOLE Regional Office 8 Director Henry John S. Jalbuena lauded the efforts of all the Single Entry Assistance Desk Officers or SEADOs form the different field offices for the excellent performance.

“I would like to commend all our SEADOs for really putting their hearts to the different programs of the department particularly to the SEnA program”, said Jalbuena.

Even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, DOLE Region 8 was able to assist aggrieved workers through online mandatory conferences.

SENA is an administrative approach to provide a speedy, impartial, inexpensive and accessible settlement procedure for all issues/complaints arising from employer-employee relations to prevent them from ripening into full blown disputes. End/NRSC
