Public hearings on minimum wage adjustment slated in Eastern Visayas

Tacloban City – The Department of Labor and Employment and the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in Region 8 have recently announced the conduct of series of consultation and public hearings for the adjustment of minimum wage in Eastern Visayas.

DOLE Regional Office No. 8 Director and RTWPB-8 Chairman, Henry John S. “We will be conducting a region-wide hearing with our stakeholders from the different sectors for the board to come up with sound recommendations and decisions”, said Jalbuena.

He likewise added that any party may file an opposition copy furnished the petitioner not later than April 26, 2022.

The schedule of consultation and hearings are as follows: (1) Public Consultation on April 22 at Kuting Reef Resort, Macrohon, Southern Leyte; 1st Public Hearing on April 27 at Carlosta Hotel, Ormoc City; 2nd Public Hearing on May 16 at Stellar Hotel, Borongan City; 3rd Public Hearing on May 17 at Ciriaco Hotel, Calbayog City; 4th Public Hearing on May 19 at Mijares Hotel in Catarman, Northern Samar; and 5th Public Hearing on May 23 at Summit Hotel, Tacloban City.

Parties who intend to participate in the aforementioned hearings may coordinate with RTWPB and submit position papers at its office at DOLE-RO8 Compound, Trece Martires Street, Tacloban City from April 22, 2022 to May 23, 2022.
