DOLE-8 bags special award in 2022 Search for Best Livelihood

Tacloban City – The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 8 took home the 2nd best video documentation for individual category in the recently concluded 2022 Kabuhayan Awards held at the New Coast Hotel in Manila last May 27, 2022.

For this year’s national search for Best DOLE-Assisted Livelihood Projects, DOLE-RO8 competed against 15 other DOLE regional offices with the following entries: Videography Project of Mr. Roy Valera from Balangkayan, Eastern Samar for the individual category and Chicken Egg Production of the Lanawan Farmers Association of MacArthur, Leyte for the group project. Its individual entry, Videography project, luckily made it to the Top 5 of the competition.

Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III as keynote speaker congratulated all the regional nominees and thanked them for their dedication and commitment to make their respective livelihood projects flourish.

DOLE-RO8 received a plaque of recognition and a cash prize of P15,000.00 for winning the 2nd best video documentation.

The Best Performing Field Office Focal Persons of DOLE-RO8, Ms. Gemma D. de la Cruz and Ms. Imelda M. Codilan for Livelihood and TUPAD respectively, were also recognized during the awarding rites including the Local Government Unit of Catarman for the Best LGU category.

Regional Director Henry John S. Jalbuena still lauded the efforts of DOLE-RO8 officials and staff for giving their best and encouraged them to continue to improve in next year’s competition. End/Norma Rae S. Costimiano
