Limasawa workers avail of DOLE’s TUPAD program

Tacloban City – The Department of Labor and Emplopyment Southern Leyte Field Office (DOLE-SLFO) awarded emergency employment assistance amounting to P162,500.00 to the island municipality of Limasawa on June 1, 2022.

Through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program, at least 50 underemployed workers from Limasawa will be engaged in a short-term employment where each beneficiary is expected to receive P 3,250.00 after a 10-day work.

DOLE-SLFO Head, Ms. Eden Ligaya Y. Golong led the awarding of the cheque to Ms. Silver Joy C. Olita representing Ms. Marites C. Medalle, the Municipal Treasurer of Limasawa.

Ms. Golong said that the department will continue to uphold the rights and welfare of every Filipino worker through its programs and services.

Each TUPAD beneficiary will likewise be enrolled to an accident insurance and be given personal protective equipment prior to work engagement. End/Norma Rae S. Costimiano with a report from DOLE-SLFO
